Exposed: The Inaugural Reader Photo Critique
All you have to do is ask, right? Two months ago we invited readers to send us their best travel photographs. If selected, their images would be (gently) critiqued by the photo editors here at Adventure.

The response was overwhelming. With dozens of submissions daily, we received every variation of photograph imaginable—from readers around the globe. Thanks to everyone for sending us your best shots.

With over 600 photos from which to choose, the photo editors then had to slim the pickings. When the job was done, these three pics emerged from the masses. Selected for their quality and "adventurous" spirit, these images prove that good photography is not limited to the pros. Click here to see how they fared in our first-ever Reader Photo Gallery.

This is just the initial installment of our monthly Reader Photo Gallery. If your photo wasn't selected this month, it may turn up in a future gallery. But if you haven't sent us your favorite travel pic yet, consider this a call to action: Fire away.

Next Month: Gear Columnist and photographer Steve Casimiro reveals new tricks of the trade for 35mm loyalists.

How to Submit Your Own Photo:
Please send only one 5x7 image or smaller, per person, for critique. If you would like the photo returned, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen pictures. Images we are seeking for photo critiques include landscape, portrait, or action shots of the type you would find in Adventure.

Digital images should be saved at 72 dpi, RGB, and sent to adventure@ngs.org. Please include "Reader Photo Critique" in the subject line of your e-mail. Prints should be sent to:
