Red Rum: Fernie's primary watering hole is friendly, unpretentious, and the perfect spot to drink away sore muscles.
"The first time I walked up to this bar in the Royal Hotel in Fernie [www.fernieroyalhotel.com], there was a guy on his hands and knees outside throwing up. When I first used the men's room, I saw there were padded headrests above the urinals—if you get too tired to stand up, you can just lean there. I immediately thought, 'Wow, this is a great bar.' "
