ADVENTURE columnist and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC photographer Michael "Nick" Nichols is an old Congo hand. In fact, he's probably there right now, as part of the Congo Trek expedition.

In his travels, Nichols has lived several times with nomadic Babenzélé Pygmies. His patience and respect have yielded intimate, unself-conscious images of these rain forest hunter-gatherers.
