Having logged more than 20,000 trail miles (32,187 kilometers) in North America alone, long-distance hiker Andrew Skurka has hiked more of this fine country than most of us will in a lifetime. Case in point, last year he walked 6,876 miles (11,066 kilometers), through 12 national parks, 75 wilderness areas, and five major mountain ranges, over seven months during his Great Western Loop hike (a feat which made him our 2007 Adventurer of the Year).
Here Skurka dishes up his ten favorite, fully vetted, guaranteed-to- impress hikes.
