Rising From Water
Just off the coast of Downpatrick Head, near Ballycastle, Ireland, this stack of exposed rock rises from the sea. The rock formation, called Dun Briste, is around 350 million years old. The name means “broken fort,” and the reasoning is easy to understand: “The stack is crowned by an old, ruined fort,” explains Your Shot photographer Ryszard Lomnicki, who made this image using a long exposure.
