Everest 2012: Cory Richards Evacuated

We learned this morning that our good friend Cory Richards has been evacuated from Everest (read the story). He was able to walk from Camp 2 to Base Camp on his own power. National Geographic photo editor Sadie Quarrier had just arrived in Base Camp and accompanied Cory to Lukla by helicopter (read the story). The helicopter was arranged by Cory’s friend and Gasherbrum II climber partner Simone Moro. Tomorrow Cory will go to Kathmandu for more tests. Our thoughts are with you, Cory!
