Gear Crush: The Serious Winter Boot You Want to Wear – Teva Vero

How about a winter boot that 1) keeps you warm; 2) is waterproof; 3) has super grippy traction on ice; 4) can handle some serious activity; 4) AND gets compliments from complete strangers in bars and airports? We didn’t think a singular boot like this existed either, but it does.

This season Teva entered the winter shoe category with a bang. I tested out their women’s Vero Boot WP, and it was the best winter boot I’ve ever worn (and I grew up in serious winter boots for the Minnesota winter). The suede is chic and soft—and waterproof—and the lace-up design add fit and a fashionable edge. The White Spider Rubber sole make ice not a worry (even when pro skiers were falling on the sidewalk right next to me). The insole provides a lot of cushion and a buffer to the cold. Thanks to the 3M Thinsulate insulation, I watched a nighttime big-air event at the Teva Mountain Games in Vail this winter—standing still on ice for about an hour and a half—and my feet never felt the chill seep through. They can also handle serious aerobic activity. I wore them snowshoeing ten miles between Breckenridge and Frisco and they were great—which means you don’t need to pack an additional pair of hiking shoes. The hidden side zipper makes them easy to get in and out of while going through security at the airport.

The kicker: I have never gotten more compliments from complete strangers on how cute my boots were.
