For years, I have resisted the Apple hype, defended the lower-cost and more widely available software for PCs, and done everything I could to separate reality from marketing. But a year ago, after almost throwing my ThinkPad against the wall in frustration, I bought a MacBook Pro. Days of wine and roses, baby—I’ve been nothing but thrilled with it. And for the last two months I’ve been testing the MacBook Air (verdict: amazing. review: next week). Now comes the 3G iPhone with GPS and bazillions of third-party software apps on the way. Is this the one to make me toss my Nokia N95?
