Make Reading a Habit
Join National Geographic Kids to raise awareness for National Read Across America Day and National Reading Month.
Our goal at National Geographic Kids is to create a lifelong love of reading, storytelling, and learning by making nonfiction subjects fun. Studies show that early reading helps kids’ mental development and that literacy skills are a good predictor of student success in school and in life.
National Read Across America Day on March 2, 2017, promotes the benefits of reading and is the perfect opportunity to unplug and snuggle up with a good book. Read together, read aloud, or find a quiet place for kids to read on their own.
In fact, the whole month of March is National Reading Month, which reminds kids and adults alike to make reading a favorite habit—after school, at bedtime, or anytime.
