We reach retailers and wholesalers through our distributor Penguin Random House, the world’s largest trade publisher, and through our excellent international partners. Permissions

A permissions contract is required to reprint or reproduce material from any book published by National Geographic. Please be aware that we charge fees for the use of National Geographic Books content, and we do not provide a fair use assessment. For more information on U.S. Copyright Laws and Fair Use, please visit www.copyright.gov.

We accept permissions requests via email or regular mail, but regret that we cannot accept requests made by phone. Please note that due to high volume, our response time is approximately 8-10 weeks. Frequent follow-up, missing information, and duplicate requests will delay the processing of your request.

We also provide electronic files for visually-impaired or learning-impaired students.

Please include the following information in your request:

  • Title, author, ISBN, and specific page numbers of the National Geographic book.
  • Your complete contact details.
  • The intended use of the content, including how it will be used, as well as any available details about the final product such as title, author, publisher, publication date, estimated total usage (e.g., print run or view count).
