Rene Ebersole

Rene Ebersole is an independent investigative journalist covering wildlife crime and exploitation for National Geographic’s Wildlife Watch. She also writes for many other outlets, including Audubon, where she was features editor for more than a decade, Outside, Popular Science, The Nation, and the Food and Environmental Reporting Network, which covers food, agriculture, and environmental health issues through partnerships with many national media outlets.

Based in New York’s Hudson Valley, Rene has a bachelor’s degree in ecology and environmental science, and a master’s in science, health, and environmental journalism from New York University, where she is an adjunct professor.
