Elaina Zachos is a writer at National Geographic, where she covers online science news. She has written on topics ranging from animals and the environment to archaeology and new discoveries.

Before National Geographic, Elaina reported investigative and magazine stories, and she has experience in podcasting and photography. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, where she studied nonfiction writing and linguistics, and worked at her school paper.
