Members of Jeddah United, the first Saudi sports league to include athletes of both genders, practice basketball. The company was founded in 2003 by Lina Khaled Almaeena and is training academy and sports league for both basketball and soccer. Photographer Lynsey Addario has spent more than a decade documenting the life of women in Saudi Arabia. “I want people to learn—to have a better sense of what Saudi women’s lives are,” she told National Geographic in 2016. “I hope people walk away with a different perspective.”
