November 3, 2026 | A World of Ice and Light
Photographer Christoph Johann was keen to explore the landscape of Alaska's Sheridan Glacier due to the way pockets of light shine through its extraordinary ice formations. Working with Points North Heli Adventures and skier Simon Hillis, he set out to capture some unexpected perspectives of the area. "Sometimes, the most incredible moments happen when you step off the beaten path and into another world," Johann tells National Geographic.
