The pale green and yellow leaves of a tree.
July 28, 2026 | Traveler's Tree
The traveler's tree (Ravenala madagascariensis) is native to Madagascar. Despite its name, the tree is not considered a true palm tree but rather a giant flowering plant. The image is part of photographer Charlotte Yonga's project, "(Tsy) Possible," which documents how intimacy is shaped by the social and geographical landscape of Madagascar. The title combines tsy, which means "no" in the country's primary language of Malagasy, with the French word possible.
