At Tehachapi Pass in Kern County, California, towering wind turbines cast shadows across rolling hills. Known as the birthplace of North American wind energy, Tehachapi became home to some of the continent’s first large-scale wind farms in the early 1980s. Today, generations of turbines continue to turn side by side, capturing the evolution of wind power in a landscape shaped by the wind.
