Day of the Dead

Angelenos gather in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery to celebrate Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. "Normally cemeteries are quiet places, yet on this special day the atmosphere erupts with color, music, and art," says Your Shot photographer Melissa Cormican. Many attendees paint their faces into calaveras, which are representations of human skulls. This photo was submitted to Your Shot, our photo community on Instagram.
