Walk With Fire

In Liestal, Switzerland, the Sunday after Ash Wednesday is full of fire and parades. Participants carry bundles of burning pinewood chips, called Chienbäse, as they walk through the town. Your Shot photographer Ilias Pavlakos says the tradition is "synonymous of the expulsion of the winter, and one of the most spectacular events [in] the country."
