Stillness on the Potomac
“Sun rays glimmer in the mist,” notes Your Shot member Guillermo Olaizola, around a great blue heron standing still above—and in contrast to—the roiling Potomac River in Great Falls Park. The birds are a common sight in the 800-acre Virginia park, a popular bird-watching spot.
