Not So Hairy

A hairy frogfish gapes at an underwater camera. "Despite having a hairy appearance the 'hairs' are actually skin appendages or spinules which cover the frogfish’s body, head and fins," explains Your Shot photographer Nadia Aly. The appendages help the fish blend in to its surroundings. This photo was submitted to Your Shot, our photo community on Instagram.
