Chile’s Miscanti Lagoon licks at the arid and stark Altiplano. The lagoon is located at more than 13,000 feet (4,000 meters) above sea level within Los Flamencos National Reserve, and a variety of wildlife species, including the Chilean flamingo, call this Martian-looking landscape home.
