Curious Colors

Your Shot member Melissa Leak submitted this photo of Lanzarote’s Green Lagoon, which sports a unique, acidic color due to a proliferation of algae. Green Lagoon is bordered by a beach of pebbly, black volcanic rock. In fact, Lanzarote, one of Spain's Canary Islands, owes its otherworldly landscape to the ancient volcanic activity that shaped it.
