A Light Touch

This light painting, submitted by Your Shot photographers Martin Shank and Julie Larocque for Your Shot’s “Create It” assignment and ultimately published in the December 2015 issue of National Geographic, required a dark space and a still model. Laroque set up the camera and posed, and Shank painted her with a fiber-optic brush. “Doing light painting allows us to transcend into a fictional world,” Larocque says.
