Along for the Ride

An infant toque macaque clings to its mother as they traverse the Katagamuwa Sanctuary. The Old World monkey, which is endemic to Sri Lanka, is classified as endangered by the IUCN. Their habitat is coming under increasing pressure from encroaching plantations as more of Sri Lanka's forested areas are converted for agricultural use.
