A Sunbaked Snack

A flock of dromedary camels grazes within the desert landscape of Torūd in Iran’s Semnān Province. Dromedaries thrive in these conditions; their humps store up to 80 pounds (36 kilograms) of fat, which can be metabolized into water and energy when sustenance is unavailable, and they can subsist on the dry, thorny desert plants that other animals would reject.
