“Flying with my father over Bárðarbunga to experience this eruption from inside our Earth was amazing,” writes photographer Ragnheidur Arngrímsdóttir, who captured this picture near Iceland’s Holuhraun lava field. “The power, heat, and beauty were overwhelming. On many occasions you feel how small you are [beside] nature. This was one of those times for me.”
