Your best photos of the week, November 9, 2018

Each week, our editors choose stunning photos submitted by members of Your Shot, National Geographic's photo community.

This week, the Your Shot community reached a milestone of one million registered users in our history as a community. That’s incredible. Over the course of almost a decade as an online platform, one million photographers came through our doors. If even only for a little bit or to stay, this community has been thriving world-wide through the passion for photography since day one.

We asked the community what brought you to Your Shot in honor of this milestone. Their answers didn’t disappoint. I read stories of friendship, a hunger to learn and improve their craft, and an undeniable love for photography. The reoccurring vein at the core of almost every answer was passion.
