Algonquin Park Photo Gallery

After the excitement of Canada Day and the pastoral idyll of the farm, I turned my wheels westward and set off into the wild.

Algonquin Provincial Park lies less than three hours from Ottawa. In fact, Algonquin is probably the most accessible wilderness area in Ontario, given that 12 million people live within a three-hour radius of this huge and iconic park.

I took all of these pictures on a single day in Algonquin Park in an attempt to show its vastness, the dark density of the forest and the vivid glacial features that define the Canadian Shield.

As you can see, in summer, it is an incredibly green place. As you can imagine, in fall, it must be surprisingly gold and red.
