The most peaceful place? Gjain, a waterfall in #Iceland. Also, Bandhavgar National Park in #India. I love India.
Q4. via @kymri What’s your favorite smartphone photography app for shooting and for sharing?
Instagram, definitely. I like how it frames the shot, the choice of filters & how others can interact.
Q5. via @FourDown_ Have you ever seriously considered moving to any of your destinations?
Yes. I’ve considered moving to Paris, Montreal, New Orleans & Melbourne. I could live in all those cities.

Yes! Antarctica was my dream destination & I got to go for my 1st big NGTrav assignment.
Q7. @Vee9R Most moving place you’ve ever been?
Probably a mass in Solola, Guatemala w/about 500 Mayan Indians in a cathedral chanting a hymn in their ancient language.
Q8. via @gregseitz In a world where every place seems to have been written about, how do you make your work fresh?
I think people create places & to approach any place w/ the wonder of a 1st time visitor always brings a fresh perspective.
Q9. @ allison_b216 Is there a certain place/city that you’ve never traveled to that you want to visit?
Yes! I want to go to #Uzbekistan & especially Samarkand. That’s a place I’d like to see. Also, the Congo River!
Q10. via @travlin_girl How far in advance are your jaunts planned, and by whom?
Every trip is different, some roughly planned, some not at all. I do some on my own but have a fantastic team @NatGeoTraveler too.

Melbourne for love, Sydney for money.
Q12. via @k_vivas Which is your favorite country/place in Latin America? Why?
Bolivia, because it takes your breath away (literally).
Q13. via @iamfrafuga What’s your favorite mean of transport? Do you prefer flying or overlanding?

Overland, always. I like slow motion travel. Bikes are good; camels are better, on foot is best.

I had a press pass & I’m 6’4″ tall. So, double advantage.
Q15. via @KenGreig How many air mile points have you accumulated?
I don’t know for sure. I fly whatever’s available. This year, I’ve flow about 150,000 miles.
Q16. (Last Q) The one question we all want to ask: Where are you headed next?
I can’t reveal that! But here’s a clue: the woman who works at my local doughnut shop was named after my next destination.
