#FriFotos: You’re the Best…Around

To call attention to the start of the Olympics, this week’s #FriFotos theme is THE BEST. Upon hearing this phrase, I can’t help but think of “You’re the Best” by Joe Esposito — one of the principal songs in 1984’s break-out martial arts movie, The Karate Kid — which is pretty much the best song to get you pumped for physical competition (besides “Eye of the Tiger,” of course).

Though karate isn’t an Olympic sport (at least not yet), its Korean cousin, Taekwondo, will be featured in this summer’s Games. Guarav Dhup submitted this photograph of a student showing off his moves to National Geographic’s My Shot community, and it made me smile. I hope it brings a smile to your face, too.

And best of luck to this year’s competitors, many of whom have spent a lifetime preparing for this moment!
