LIVE from the Summit of Kilimanjaro
This will be the shortest blog post of my life.
It is minus 15° C [5° F] with very strong wind and typing means taking my gloves off, BUT, I wanted to live blog my reaching the summit of Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro. Yes, right now, I am typing this at 19,341 ft (5,895 m) which is not only the highest extremes to which I have walked in my lifetime–it is a new extreme for my blog.
In fact, I will go so far as to say, that I am the first person at National Geographic who has live-blogged from the top of the highest mountain in Africa.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I am freezing and a bit woozy from the altitude. Heading down to saner climes where I shall be able to recount more of the details of this amazing walk up the mountain. Thanks for following and for all of your encouragement!
