Shown Around El Paso By [The] Royalty
As you’ll see in the video, I caught The Royalty‘s show at Padres in Marfa the other week, and then hung out with them after the show.
They offered to give me a tour of their hometown of El Paso, and pointed out some of the city’s lesser-known spots (see below for more on each band member’s picks).
Great band, by the way. Get into them now; it’s sure to give you guaranteed street cred once they hit it big. And they will hit it big.
Just this month, Amazon recently listed them as one of their “Artists on the Rise” and MTV described their sound as “dreamy ’60’s soundscapes and doo-wop harmonies with an aggressively talented female front.”
Dig ’em… but watch this video first, of course.
The Royalty’s El Paso Picks:
- Nat Geo Expeditions
- The Guitarist (Jesus Apodaca): Sonic Ranch
- The Keyboardist (Daniel Marin): San Jacinto Plaza + Plaza Hotel
- The Lead Singer (Nicole Boudreau): The Tap
- The Drummer (Joel Quintana): Asarco Towers
