This luxurious property east of Montego Bay, hideaway for royalty and celebrities, has a renowned golf course, equestrian center, 54 swimming pools, fancy spa, and multiple restaurants. Yet it has long had a reputation for environmental awareness and was a likely subject for Traveler's October 2008 feature, "Jamaica Gently," in which writer Mel White sets out to enjoy a beach vacation while following the 50 tips in Traveler's "Ultimate Guide to Sustainable Travel."
