Road trips are often considered a bucket list travel goal. There’s something about a few friends, a few bucks, and some wheels that just spells adventure. Done right, with a perfect blend of planning—to avoid travel woes—and spontaneity, a trip like this will provide timeless memories (and photos, of course)!

On Wednesday, October 26, we’ll be sharing our expertise in planning an epic journey. Tyler Metcalfe, a regular contributor to National Geographic Travel and author of our recent series "American Bike Project," will host the discussion, and we hope you'll join us to talk about all things road trip, whether taken by bike or car. You can participate in the conversation at 4 p.m. ET by using #NatGeoTravelChat.

During the live chat, @NatGeoTravel will pose six questions over the course of an hour. Tyler and members of the National Geographic family will give their answers and discuss their upcoming or past road trips, share photos from their trips, and answer your questions.

Be sure to share your own thoughts and travel stories. We'll be retweeting our favorite responses.
