SEA BEYOND: BLUE FUTURE

Building upon the success of our first two campaigns with Prada, SEA BEYOND: BLUE FUTURE tells four optimistic stories about the power of ocean literacy, and how understanding our ocean plays a key role in its preservation and protection.

THE BRIEF

In 2025, Prada came to National Geographic to present a new storytelling series aligned to Prada Re-Nylon and SEA BEYOND, the project by Prada Group in partnership with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO since 2019. The content was to focus on raising awareness of ocean preservation aligning with SEA BEYOND mission. This year, excitingly, Prada talents Benedict Cumberbatch and Sadie Sink were to be incorporated into the storytelling. In addition to producing content to run across Nat Geo’s platforms, for this campaign Prada also turned to our CreativeWorks team to produce product-focused campaign assets for Prada’s Re-Nylon campaign for their own media buying usage in print, out of home and online.

SOLUTION

For SEA BEYOND: BLUE FUTURE, we produced four stories telling optimistic stories of the ocean – two in the cold waters of Norway with Benedict and two in the warm waters of Mexico with Sadie with Sea Beyonders in both locations. Along with four Hero videos, we created a vast suite of assets to run both across our social platforms as well as on Prada’s owned & operated channels.

In terms of specific social amplification, TikTok was crucial for pushing out this content given that Prada sees strongest engagement for their ocean protection content on this platform. We also amplified the content across Instagram (including with Stories and Multimedia Carousels).
Additionally for this campaign, for the first time Prada ran a 90’ video ad edit which we ran on Disney+ in the UK market taking over the entire ad break. We also ran an opening double page spread in the worldwide edition of National Geographic Magazine.
