It's been about a year since I've taken over as a the producer for Photo of the Day, and the standout images from March underscore what I love so much about this series. Every day is a new peek at a different corner of the world. Every image has a new story to tell on our planet's wildlife, landscapes, communities, and cultures. And it's all seen through the lens of our talented and diverse photo community, Your Shot.

I'm always looking forward to where we'll go next, and the stories still to be told.

Francis Rivera produces Photo of the Day, a curated look at photography from National Geographic’s photo community, Your Shot . Melody Rowell writes and researches the captions. Submit your photos and you could be published online or in our magazines. See the highlights from previous months here.
