These Unexpected Cities Have the Best Coffee in the U.S.

Small cities can provide the best caffeine fix.

After a long flight or a day of exploring a city, a rest for a coffee may be nice—nay, necessary. We partnered with Resonance earlier this year to bring you some of America’s Best Small Cities, now we are diving into some of the categories that mean the most to you. First up: your caffeine fix.

So how did we do it? Resonance helped us identify the top 20 small cities (less than 600,000 in population) for coffee shops, and we selected cities with offerings ranging from great hikes, to museum tours, to pure relaxation—all with a perfect morning joe.
