Deadline Alert: @NatGeoTravel Photo Contest

This year’s National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest is winding down. So far, the entries have been surprising and stunning, but the winners are far from being chosen.

The June 30 deadline is fast approaching, but there’s still time to throw your hat in the ring. Don’t miss your chance to enter (scroll down to see what you could win).

Enter your best travel photographs in one of four categories:

Outdoor Scenes (See the Gallery)

Sense of Place (See the Gallery)

Spontaneous Moments (See the Gallery)

Travel Portraits (See the Gallery)

Traveler magazine will be awarding life-changing prizes to a total of ten winners. Here’s a little more about them:

Grand prize: The grand-prize winner will earn a trip for two to Alaska’s Inside Passage with National Geographic Expeditions to experience—and document—some of the most spectacular wildlife on Earth.

The other prizes aren’t too shabby, either. First runner up will be sent on an intensive Nat Geo photography workshop in Santa Fe; third place wins you a six-day cruise for two on a schooner in Maine; and seven merit prize winners will take home a hefty gift certificate to B&H Photo.

Perhaps best of all, the ten prize-winning photos will appear in the year-end issue of National Geographic Traveler magazineNational Geographic Traveler magazine and on the National Geographic website.

So what are you waiting for? Read the rules and fine print, check out last year’s winners for inspiration, then submit your best photos today for a chance to show off your travel eye in a big way.
